FATHER'S RIGHTS: CHANGES IN ARIZONA CUSTODY LAWS

When in comes to Father's rights to custody in Arizona, recently state lawmakers, judges, lawyers, university researchers and activists have worked to change custody laws. In 2010, Arizona law chnaged to state that, unless there is evidence of domestic violence or substance abuse, it is in the child's best interest to have "substantial, frequent, meaningful and continuing parenting time with both parents."

Domestic Partnership Registry Phoenix and Tucson

The Domestic Partner Registry in Phoenix, documents a relationship that allows those involved in a defined domestic relationship to register and thus, be granted access to visit their partner in health care facilities.  Currently, access is reserved for family members absent presence on the registry. 

Obtaining an Order of Protection

Statistics from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence indicate that one in four women will be the victim of domestic violence at some point in their lifetimes. 85 percent of the victims of domestic violence are women, according to the NCADV, and it is further estimated that 1.3 million women are victims of domestic violence each year.
