Comedian Chris rock resolves child custody dispute

Popular comedian Chris Rock has reportedly reached a significant milestone in his ongoing divorce. According to court documents and news sources, the comedian and actor filed for divorce from his wife in New Jersey back in December 2014. The pair have reportedly come to an agreement regarding sharing custody, despite divorce proceedings that some have characterized as bitter.

The custody agreement between Rock and his estranged wife comes on the heels of allegations the actor made that his wife had denied him opportunities to visit his kids. Under the terms of the new agreement, both parents will share joint custody of their two daughters, ages 13 and 11 years old.

Although the custody situation appears to have been worked out, there are still other issues yet to be resolved. The couple married in 1996 and their prenuptial agreement is no longer valid due to expiration. Rock's estranged wife is reportedly seeking a portion of the entertainer's fortune. According to news sources, Rock's wife wants the actor to pay alimony so that she can maintain a similar standard of living as the one she enjoyed throughout the couple's marriage.

If you are currently considering a divorce involving children, there are a few things you should know. Arizona family courts place a great deal of value on the importance of having both parents actively involved in their children's development. This means that under most circumstances, courts will go to great lengths to see that both parents have opportunities to visit with their kids and participate in meaningful relationships.

However, it is also important for you to know that courts will do whatever is in the best interests of any children involved. This means that allegations of denying access to children by one parent could adversely affect a court's decision regarding child custody orders. Fortunately, you are entitled to retain experienced family law representation to assist you with these matters. This is true whether you are attempting to limit your spouse's access to your kids or defending against such actions.
